Mercury
The planet of communication and short trips. When AIstra mentions Mercury, it is usually about messages, deals, conversations, or about Mercury retrograde, when those things get tangled.
Mercury rules communication and short trips. Speaking, writing, calls, emails, conversations, errands. Anything where information moves from one place to another. In classical astrology Mercury is also the planet of trade, contracts, and small commerce.
Mercury moves close to the Sun, never more than 28° away, so it always sits in the same sign or one adjacent. It changes signs roughly every two to three weeks when direct, but slows and reverses three times per year during retrograde periods.
AIstra mentions Mercury most often around its retrograde periods, when the usual jokes about lost keys, mis-sent emails, and broken plans get an astrological frame. The other time she names Mercury is when it forms a tight aspect to a slower planet — Mercury square Saturn is the day a careful word matters.
